It seems that some of the NFL players are still not getting the message that fans don’t like to see their national anthem, flag, country and President disrespected.
Time and again, fans have complained that they don’t like the NFL expressing their political agendas while on the field and in uniform.
You can’t make it more plain than that or can you?
One North Dakota farmer hopes that his message from his bean field will finally get the fans’ point across.
Seventy-seven year old Gene Hanson took to his tractor and plowed the following words on his bean field:
“We Stand For The National Anthem”.
Hanson who is a President Donald Trump supporter said:
“I go with [President] Trump on this one. If you want to protest, that’s not the place to do it.
A lot of people died over our flag. We’re able to voice our opinion because of it. If you’re going to show respect for anything, do it for the national anthem.”
Hanson said it only took him two tries to get the words plowed correctly on the field.
He originally wanted to add the words: “We kneel at the cross” at the bottom but frost prevented him from continuing to plow. He hopes, weather permitting, to add the phrase soon.
Hanson has been plowing messages for a while.
Some of his prior messages have included:
“Drain the Swamp,” “Blue Lives Matter,” “Feel the Bern,” “GOP, get your act together,” and “Vote Trump.”
He also plowed the singer Prince’s symbol on his property when Prince passed way. Hanson said that was one of his most popular and caught the attention of fans all over the world.
His least popular message for which Hanson says he took a lot of flak was his “Never Hillary” message.
But he says, “Most responses have been positive, though.”
Good to know!
Hopefully, his latest message will score a touchdown with NFL players and owners that will have the standing for the national anthem at all future NFL games.
If not, Hanson may have to take to his tractor and carve out a “Dear John” letter on behalf of all NFL fans who support standing for the national anthem.
