On Wednesday, ABC’s reporter, Cecilia Vega attempted to “create” a story where there was none in regards to a response she believed President Donald Trump gave in response her to a question she asked regarding Russia.
At the end of a Cabinet meeting in which the press was in attendance to record and report the event, Trump moved to conclude the media’s participation.
As is typical, he gives a clue to the media that it’s time to exit the room by saying “thank you.”
The media understands that it is time for them to leave. This occasion was no different.
On the video, you can hear Trump say:
As many turned to go, one reporter didn’t take the hint.
Vega, sounding a lot like CNN reporter Jim Acosta, made one last attempt to get in a question before being ushered out the door, despite the fact that Trump had politely called an end to the medias’ participation in the meeting.
Here is the exchange that took place and illustrates how Vega used her own misinterpretation of that exchange to make it appear that Trump was responding to her question and denying that Russia was still targeting the U.S. election process.
Trump: “Thank you” (followed immediately with) “Thank you very much.”
Vega, asked the following question instantly following Trump saying “Thank you” and before he could say”Thank you very much.”
Vega asks: “Is Russia still targeting the U.S.?”
Vega then repeats the question, “Is Russian still targeting the U.S., Mr. President” while Trump continues to say “Thank you” to the media, expecting them to leave.
Vega asks again: “Is Russian still targeting the U.S., Mr. President?”
Trump during her question, Trump appears to perhaps look in her direction and responds by saying:
Trump: “Thank you very much, no.”
Vega responds: “No, you don’t believe that to be the case?”
At this point, another reporter attempts to ask a question and Trump ignores him, continuing to say “thank you” in order to get the reporters to leave.
Trump again responds: “Thank you very much everyone.” (Trump does not respond to the reporter’s question but ignores him.)
In one last attempt, Vega interrupts Trump and says:
Vega: “Can you just clarify you don’t believe that to be the case?”, (literally speaking over Trump as he addresses the entire room, not in response to Vega’s questions but in general by saying the following):
Trump: “We’re doing very well, probably as well as anyone has ever done with Russia….”
Vega immediately took to Twitter, believing she had the “scope du jour” when in fact what she apparently had was Trump saying “no” to her, in an attempt to inform her that he was not going to respond to her questions because he had asked the media to leave.
Vega wasn’t letting her “misinterpretation” stop her.
“Getting a lot of questions about my exchange with
@realDonaldTrump today. Yes, he was looking directly at me when he spoke. Yes, I believe he heard me clearly. He answered two of my questions. Here’s the full exchange:

Media then took “Vega’s pot of gold” (or so she and they thought) to the White House Press conference and sought a clarification of the earlier exchange.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked by a member of the press corps about what happened.
Sanders indicated to the reporter that the President Trump wasn’t answering Vega’s question but rather he was declining to answer shouted questions by the press.
Well, in the world of #FakeNews, truth is never accepted and is merely ignored.
That’s just what ABC and others in the mainstream media have chosen to do.
Following the explanation by Sanders, who was present at the Cabinet meeting and heard the exchange, ABC ignored Sanders and issued the following, choosing to support Vega’s misinterpretation of the event, rather than accept Sanders’ reasonable explanation.
“NEW REVERSAL: The White House is again clarifying something that Pres. Trump said – this time after he was asked whether the Russians are still targeting the U.S., and he appeared to say “no.”
@CeciliaVega – who asked that question – reports. https://abcn.ws/2JC2CPl “

Creating the news and disparaging the President never gets old for mainstream media.
Ignoring the truth about the Obama administration’s Russia involvement, however, never gets reported by mainstream media and is buried so that the public will never hear about it.
It was reported in June that:
“The Obama White House’s chief cyber official testified Wednesday that proposals he was developing to counter Russia’s attack on the U.S. presidential election were put on a “back burner” after he was ordered to “stand down” his efforts in the summer of 2016.”
Nice try ABC but #FakeNews is never appreciated.
