Actor James Woods Calls For Firing of MTV News Writer Over ‘Racist’ Comment

In Tuesday’s Senate confirmation hearings of Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-AL, Sessions was put through hours of tough questioning.

While some on the left questioned him about past unsubstantiated racism charges, apparently, some on the “tolerant” left saw it as an opportunity to make racist remarks aimed at Sessions’ Asian granddaughter.

Actor James Woods took to Twitter Tuesday to call out MTV culture writer Ira Madison III for a racist comment that was posted to Madison’s twitter feed. The tweets are currently only available to confirmed followers.

In a post that has since been deleted, Madison wrote “Sessions, sir, kindly return this Asian baby to the Toys “R” Us you stole her from.” He went on to note that “there is no reason for that child to be in his lap in a hearing other than to send an ‘I’m not racist message.’”

Woods asked in response to Madison’s tweet if MTV would “fire the scum for his hate speech?”

Additionally, Madison tweeted: Why is she a prop? Sessions argued for policy that in the 1880s was used to discriminate against Asian Americans

Hours later, Woods once again took to social media and called his followers to action. Woods asked his 500,000 followers to “boycott MTV and its sponsors until #racist Ira Madison is fired.”

At the time of this writing, seven thousand had retweeted Woods’ tweet and 13K had liked the tweet.

CNN’s Jake Tapper also weighed in and advised Madison to “delete” his account and “find some humanity.” Tapper labeled Madison’s tweet as “disgusting.”

Now it is up to the right to show that they will not remain silent when it comes to racism.
