CNN Feigns Innocence While Blaming Trump for Explosive Device

Wednesday was fraught with news of “suspicious packages,” some reportedly with bomb detonating devices and others with “white powder” that were received mostly by those on the Liberal Left and CNN. The White House was also a recipient of a suspicious package.

The list is long but recipients included Hillary and former President Bill Clinton, former President Obama, George Soros, New York Governor Cuomo’s office, former attorney general Eric Holder, Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla) and Maxine Waters (D-Calif.).

In addition, the San Diego Union Tribune building in San Diego, California where Sen. Kamala Harris has an office was evacuated after someone spotted packages, not addressed to Harris, left outside the building. That situation turned out to be a false alarm.

However, there was also a package addressed to former CIA head John Brennan which was delivered to CNN in New York City.

Brennan’s name was misspelled on the package and the package was reportedly couriered to CNN.

Apparently, the sender may have thought that Brennan worked for CNN instead of NBC.

In any event, CNN appeared to act as though they were the target of an explosive device (and not Brennan) when Jeff Zucker, President of CNN condemned President Donald Trump along with his White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders in a statement later in the day.

Zucker issued the following statement, hours after its location in New York City was evacuated:

Many on social media questioned Zucker’s statement and wondered where the news network was when GOP Rep. Steve Scalise was shot.

Others wondered what responsibility CNN held for constantly “attacking” Trump 24/7 while attacking with impunity then wanting to play the victim.

Julia tweeted:

“Do not CNN’s words matter too? You cannot expect the daily onslaught of ad hominem attacks on this President, his administration and his supporters not to have a deleterious effect. You want to be able to attack with impunity and then play the victim. That’s not how it works.”

Great point!

There have been numerous opportunities recently for CNN to speak out about those who called for Republicans to be “harassed” and for protests and threats of violence against Republicans in public places to end but they remained silent instead.

Where was CNN when California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters called on her supporters to:

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere. We’ve got to get the children connected to their parents.”

Also, did CNN, who condemned Trump’s Press Secretary Sanders, condemn those at the restaurant after they forced her to leave?

Did CNN object when Department of Homeland Security head Kirstjen Nielsen’s had to leave a restaurant when she was jeered by protesters?

Did CNN speak out when Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and his wife were forced to leave a restaurant when protesters disrupted their dinner?

Where was CNN when House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spoke of “collateral damage” and former Attorney General Eric Holder said “When they go low, we kick them,” when referring to Republicans?

And, did you correct Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. when they said that Trump’s words “ring hollow” when he condemned the threats of violence?

CNN, it’s a little too late to be  feigning innocence when you have “egg” on your face.

One twitter user said it best when she responded to CNN by saying:

“AFTER the GOP was shot, beat/had ribs broken, doxxed, mailed ricin, chased down. NOW words matter? Let me help you out, Jeff. Truth & positivity matter. Lies & negativity (such as . spews 24/7), do NOT matter at all. For proof, simply check your own ratings, dear. “
