    re: 5-22-18 God’s Views…broadcast.

Susan, it seems clear to me: the last shooter “didn’t show signs” but wore long black coat, etc. Yes, Susan we don’t have the discernment God intended. It’s been removed: “If you persist in sin, I will give you over to it.” But the real question is what is that sin that has caused this mass loss of discernment? The sins of the children, of the parents, the culture? All of these but more importantly, it is the sin of the church in America.
    1) The sin of not fighting the culture on all issues–abortion, prayer in school, parental rights laws, morality on TV/movies/online, keeping the family intact, stay at home motherhood, curriculum in schools, etc. Many Christians have been gaining ground by growing vocal in these areas. 2) The sin of not teaching in the culture. There has been a lot of Christian teaching available on parenting, marriage, spending time with children, etc. But, I have been in many churches since I came to the Lord in 1990 and lived in three corners of the US since then, and I have seen a precipitous decline in the church discipling and teaching people within the church so how can they go out in the community and teach? It is increasingly a country club atmosphere where it is more about behavior performance and conformity expectation rather than teaching and modeling daily continually what it means to live a life of reflection and repentance and humble obedience, of full reliance on the Lord and the indwelling Holy Spirit for guidance, comfort, teaching, love for others. It does not utilize all the information produced by our teachers. It has been since 1990 in California that I was in a church that offered a multiple of classes mid-week and on Sunday to TEACH the Bible. I have lived in central NY since 1994 and cannot find a church that offers Bible studies (except mid-week mornings for those who don’t work!!). Now, I know plenty of Christians who know the Bible from learning on their own. But they are not watching elders modelling teaching classes or being encouraged to teach a class themselves. Therefore of course the church is doing nothing to reach out into the community to teach the Bible to the world at large. Bible Literacy is non-existent now in our culture, and we stay in our Holy Huddles. How about Bible classes out in the community, for those who have zero confidence in church (not surprisingly) BUT would like to know more about Jesus!!!
    3) People in the church DO NOT reach out to support single mothers, instead they judge and say you made your bed you slept in it. I have had women, elders’ wives, say this to my face. I was a single mom and I brought my son to church three times a week and was very involved to the best of my ability, but my son got into drugs in high school. I could talk for one hour about the ways I tried to reach out for help from any guy in the church to give my son a little bit of that male attention. To me, it was so simple. I know for a fact that my son would have responded hugely to any male that would take the time to express genuine older brother in Christ interest in him…he actually looked for it and asked for it himself. My son was not the one in the wrong, but rather the men in the church who just said outright, “Not interested.” I think to give time (and it’s quality not quantity) would have been the true fragrance of Jesus. But that fragrance for boys, girls, even adults for each other, is non-existent in the church. The church has grown “disgusting” as Jesus indeed said.

I haven’t heard that the reason for these shootings is the church yet. I say it IS actually God’s message to the church, this is because the church is near dead and not fulfilling His mantle put on us to be the Light and the Salt and the Fragrance of Jesus to the world. The reason for the school shootings is God’s message to the Church:

“Return to My Lordship, obey Me, represent Me, serve the world for Me or these things will keep happening due to your outright negligence and abandonment of each other and the people I have given you to serve.”

It is our neglect. I thank Bill Cloud’s perspective on the father’s role. He and you are Right ON. But realize, it is time for “All hands on deck” and not one Christian can sit home anymore, not one pastor sit in his office and not lead the way for his congregation to go out into the community to serve and teach, not one of us cannot NOT come before the Lord in repentance: “Against You Lord we have sinned” by all of us in letting down each other and the culture. etc. These parents that don’t know how to be Christian parents, guess what…THEY’RE NOT CHRISTIANS! How can they know what to do? So we HAVE TO GO OUT AND TEACH THEM! THAT’S what the Lord is saying we have NOT done…

Am I making any sense? I don’t know how to share what I know and have seen for a very long time. Gross indifference by pastors and congregants–“Holy Huddles” is what all churches have degenerated into.

That’s what I have the share. Thank you for an excellent program today. Please consider looking how the church can rally itself learn how to share the Love of Jesus truly and love and teach the culture about having a relationship with Jesus, PLEASE>

In the above post, I lost a sentence. After: “Many Christians have been gaining ground by growing vocal in these areas.” Should continue: “But we are not, all of us together, taking that information and following through on it.”

    Thanks Susan.
