On Wednesday, President Donald Trump wasted no time in turning the tables on former failed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee regarding Fusion GPS dossier and the Uranium One deal.
As he was leaving for a fundraiser in Dallas, Texas, Trump spoke with reporters about the revelation which shows that Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid for a salacious anti-Trump dossier before the election.
“They’re embarrassed by it, but I think it’s a disgrace. It’s a very sad commentary on politics in this country.”
The Washington Post revealed earlier this week, that the Hillary Clinton and Democratic National Convention through their attorney Marc Elias, partner with the law firm Perkins Coie, paid Fusion GPS to conduct research on then Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Bottom line, it appears that the Clinton campaign and the DNC hoped to “dig up” dirt on Trump so they could use it against him in the 2016 presidential election.
The infamous dossier attempted to make the connection between Russia and possible coordination between Trump’s campaign and the Kremlin.
Trump said about the dossier:
“The whole Russia thing … this was the Democrats coming up with an excuse for losing the election. They lost it and they lost it very badly. And they didn’t know what to say, so they made up the whole Russia hoax.”
Trump added: “Now it’s turning out that the hoax is turned around, and you look at what’s happened with Russia and the uranium deal and the fake dossier, and it’s all turned around.”
Indeed, for the moment at least, Democrats are on the defensive scrambling to explain themselves.
If nothing else, the uranium deal or the Uranium One deal in which an Obama administration’s Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others, sold off 20 percent of America’s uranium to Russia in 2010, has created a lot of controversy.
Information has been brought to light about what was occurring before and during the time the Obama administration was negotiating the Uranium One deal.
Some of the more important aspects are listed below:
Allegations indicate that Russians were running a racketeering operation with the “consent of higher-level officials” in Russia who “shared the proceeds” from the kickbacks offered to an American uranium trucking company.
Information was also allegedly discovered showing that millions of dollars were allocated by Russia for the Clinton Foundation while Hillary Clinton was serving as Secretary of State.
In addition, former President Bill Clinton was receiving thousands of dollars in speaking fees from Russia during this time as well.
Other questions have now arisen about what was known and when by those involved.
According to reports, there is evidence to suggest in FBI, Energy Department and court documents that the feds knew about the Russian wrongdoing and racketeering operation by a top Russian official, Vadim Mikerin, as early as 2009 (before the deal was signed in 2010).
The question then becomes, did the U.S. Justice Department under Eric Holder (and then former FBI Director Robert Mueller and then U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein) keep quiet about the Russian corruption or was this information disclosed to the Obama administration (including Hillary Clinton) who decided to move forward with the Uranium One deal anyway?
There are many unanswered questions at this point.
Is there any connection between the Uranium One deal and the potential Russian interference with the 2016 elections?
Is there a conflict of interest with having Robert Mueller appointed as special counsel in the current investigation regarding possible Russia interference in the 2016 elections when there could be a link between the Uranium One deal and the 2016 elections?
Did Eric Holder, then U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who sat on the foreign investments committee at the time the Uranium One deal was approved, fail to advise the Obama administration about the Russia wrongdoing before the deal was signed?
Is there a potential for Mueller to protect himself from any liability or criminal culpability regarding Uranium One that would cause him not to disclose adverse information he finds about Hillary Clinton?
Did Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appoint Mueller to protect both of them?
Why did the U.S. sell the uranium to Russia?
I discuss the above questions and more during my radio show below which you can hear it in its entirety.
I also give you a detailed timeline and breakdown of who the players are in both the Uranium One deal and the dossier so that you will have a better understanding of each and their importance.
