What comes across as “weird” and something that might be expected from the paparazzi rather than a professional media outlet, CNN showed off a long-range camera it used to secretly capture what was described as a heated discussion inside the Oval Office.
President Donald Trump, White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, President Trump’s daughter Ivanka and Senior adviser Jared Kushner can be seen having some type of discussion in the video shot by CNN.
Reports are that Trump was frustrated over U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ recent recusal involving Russia and concerns by Trump that his own team had somehow dropped the ball in that regard.
What should have made headlines, however, was not what was being said inside the Oval office but rather how CNN captured a private conversation.
Ask yourself, when was the last time you saw mainstream media “invade” the inner sanctum of the Oval office in this way?
Can you image what the headlines would have read if any news outlet had done that to former President Barack Obama or his staff?
Below are examples of the very benign pictures I discovered that were taken from outside looking into the White House.
It’s not clear whether media took the photos or White House photographers arranged for them to be taken.
Two of the photos show Obama addressing the nation and one shows him meeting with Hollywood’s Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
Regardless of who took the photos, it should be noted that they are still photographs and not videos.
Obviously, videos are far more intrusive.
It would appear that CNN has crossed a “professional” line and are proud of it.
One has to wonder if CNN would have opted for a drone with an audio device to record the conversation, if drones were legal on White House grounds?
You be the judge.
