CNN’s Senior White House Correspondent Jim Acosta, a man who obviously loves being in the limelight and certainly wants his 15 minutes of fame with the ‘cameras rolling’ during White House press briefings is probably wishing he’d stayed in bed on Wednesday. Acosta was ‘owned’ by Stephen Miller, President Donald Trump’s senior adviser for policy after he asked questions pertaining to the GOP’s new Immigration proposal or RAISE Act.
Acosta asked what he hoped to be a ‘gotcha’ moment when he asked if the Republican proposal to decrease the number of legal immigration in the United States is contrary to the American principle etched on the Statue of Liberty which reads “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
He added if the requirement for legal immigrants to speak English was intended to make it so that only people from Australia and Great Britain were admitted to the U.S.
What happened next was something Acosta never expected to happen when a journalist asks a pompous question.
Miller, former communications director for then Sen. Jeff Sessions responded like the professional he is at putting certain media ‘personalities’ like Acosta in his place.
Miller preceded to tell Acosta how “shocked” he was at Acosta’s “cosmopolitan bias.”
“That you think only people from Great Britain or Australia would speak English is so insulting to millions of hardworking immigrants who do speak English from all over the world. Have you honestly never met an immigrant from another country who speaks English outside of Great Britain and Australia?”
Not to be deterred by logic, Acosta questioned whether the Trump administration and the Republicans were “trying to engineer the racial and ethnic flow of people into this country.”
Miller who couldn’t believe what he was hearing said:
“Jim, that is one of the most outrageous, insulting, ignorant and foolish things you’ve ever said.”
Apparently, this is Miller’s first time listening to Acosta?
Those on social media couldn’t wait to applaud Miller and inform Acosta that he had been ‘owned’.
John Cardillo said: “Stephen Miller is a comms rockstar. This is meaningful, conservative, #immigration reform and he’s articulating that perfectly.”

Ann Coulter made a good point when she said: “I wonder if it would help if all Trump spokesmen were as smart as Stephen Miller.”

A satire account of former press secretary Sean Spicer tweeted: “Hey @CNN Jim Acosta will be late getting back to the office. He’s stopping by the doctor to have Stephen Miller’s foot removed from his ass.”

#ThePersistence commented on the Miller ‘takedown’ of Acosta: “Stephen Miller is absolutely tearing the media apart. Media is coming off as racist and bigoted. #RAISEact #StephenMiller.”

Miller drove home two points today.
First, the mainstream media doesn’t care how reasonable a policy is or how much it will benefit Americans. If it comes from Trump’s administration, the media will try to destroy it.
Secondly, it was high time that someone put the pompous and self-serving media in its place. They aren’t acting in America’s best interests. Mainstream media is acting in the best interests of those higher ups who pull the strings.
Thank you, Stephen Miller for reminding us of those two points and would you consider being the White House Director of Communications? You’re perfect for the job!
