Wednesday marks the birthday of Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.). Typically, birthdays are happy occasions and a time when the one who is celebrating asks for something special, something positive and something realistic. That’s not the case with “one note” Waters.
Waters is turning 80 years old and normally with age comes wisdom.
Not this time.
During an interview this past weekend on MSNBC, Waters was asked what she wanted for her birthday.
In true Waters fashion, Waters revealed that all she wanted was a new president “who has an appreciation for the Constitution.”
“I guess now my biggest birthday wish would be that we’re able to get a leader of this country who represents us.
Who has the respect of all of our allies all over the world. Someone who has an appreciation for the Constitution.
Someone that does not lie every morning when they get up with these tweets. Someone who not only respects women, but all of the people, and instead of dividing us, would take leadership to bring us all together.
This is the greatest country in the world
But he’s undermining our democracy, he is making us ashamed of him, and he is being destructive to this democracy.
This is a man who’s criticizing NFL players because they’re not doing what he thinks they should do in saluting the flag in the way that he wants them to.
He doesn’t even know the words to the Star Spangled Banner.
And so, he is not truthful. He is a hypocrite and I would wish that we could remove him from office and go about getting the kind of president that we can all be proud of.
And if he’s not impeached, if he cannot be impeached, 2020 is coming up and I believe (the) American people are going to do the right thing for our country: Stand up for what is right and get rid of this man who is embarrassing us all.”
Although it’s not my birthday, if it were, my birthday wish would be that Waters would run for President in 2020.
I’d love to hear about how she allegedly paid her daughter $100,000 for a “slate mailer management fee” for a mass mailing her daughter conducted on Waters’ behalf. (Great pay if you can get it or know someone for sending out mailers.)
I would also love to ask her why she was named “one of the most corrupt members of congress” by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
And, I’d like to hear why she believes many have called her District 43, the worst district in Los Angeles. Some have even described it as a “cesspool.”
But in all fairness, she’s only been the representative for District 43 for the last 28 years. Perhaps in time she can make her District Great Again! (#sarcasm)
All of that can wait because today it’s Maxine Waters birthday!
Make sure, Republicans that you take the time to wish Waters a very happy birthday on Twitter as only you can 🙂
