Reports: KT McFarland Will Step Down as Trump Administrations Deputy National Security Adviser

K.T. McFarland, President Donald Trump’s pick for Deputy National Security Adviser will now be asked to step down, according to reports coming out of the White House.

McFarland was picked for the position last year by Trump’s administration, to serve under then National Security Adviser pick, Mike Flynn. When Flynn resigned, McFarland was asked to stay on in her position. Reports indicate that McFarland will be asked to step down from her position this week and become the ambassador of Singapore.

Some headlines are calling the move as a response to the recent “NSC shake up” in which Chief Strategist Steve Bannon was removed from the NSC, a position he was originally given to “as a check on formation national security adviser Michael Flynn,” according to a White House official.

Also, according to the official, Bannon had only attended one meeting of the council. He still retains a right to sit in on meetings.

In addition, with Bannon gone from the council, the move returns the director of national intelligence, CIA director, and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to full participation on the  Council’s principals committee.

News of Bannon’s removal set off a flurry of accusations by those who reach their audience mainly through Periscope.

Several pundits alleged there was a “coup” in the Trump administration to oust Bannon from the administration. There was even speculation that Bannon had threatened to quit, an allegation that Bannon calls a “Total lie.”

Now, many will surely speculate that the latest action to replace McFarland is another attempt to rid the Trump administration of “everyone” who doesn’t have a globalist agenda.

Several pundits on Periscope and elsewhere are claiming that Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and even Ivanka Trump, Trump’s daughter are behind the push to get rid of Bannon.

Twitter followers quickly set up #FireKushner to show their support for their favorite pundit’s theory about Kushner.

Lindsay Walters, a White House spokeswoman had this to say about the accusations about Bannon:

“Once again this is a completely false story driven by people who want to distract from the success taking place in this administration.”

Over the weekend, Kushner and Bannon decided to set their differences aside for the good of the people and have called a truce.

Now what theory will the pundits have to talk about?

Enter the McFarland “demotion.”

What is the Trump administration saying about why they will be asking McFarland to leave her  current position?

Could it be that Trump promised when he hired NSA head H.R. McMaster that he would allow him to be in control of the position he hired him to run?

That would certainly make sense and that’s what is generally being reported.

Trump officials are calling the ambassador positon a promotion because Singapore is a key U.S. ally.

However, don’t expect the social media pundits to “spin” it that way.
